This section provides an updated palaeolandscape resource assessment that considers research and knowledge gain since 2009 and outlines the current state of knowledge of lithostratigraphic and chronological frameworks, palaeolandscapes, and palaeogeography. Key projects and research undertaken since 2009 are summarised, with a focus on studies undertaken in the UK sector of the NSPRMF study area. The resource assessment considers projects and research undertaken in the Dutch sector of the North Sea (see Peeters et al. 2019) where relevant and appropriate.
